Applying the theory: • A 16-year old girl is pregnant through rape and wants an abortion. • A serial killer has been caught and there is public demand for him to be executed. • In the fictional “Omelas”, one child has to be locked away and mistreated in order for the rest of the city to be happy. How is it better than utilitarianism? How is it worse?

  4. Situation Ethics – Strengths and Weaknesses 1. Write as many as you can think of on magnets. Think of the theory as a whole as well as all the component parts. 2. Add them to the board. (Check if someone’s already said the same thing.) 3. Share and compare the whole thing.
