    1. Sin Everything that youve ever wanted to know, but was afraid to ask!

    2. What I do, I do not understand. For I did not do what I want, but what I hate. St. Paul (Rm 7:15) Sin lives in us. It is a major barrier preventing us from living a moral life. Only Through our understanding of sin can we learn the antidote to sin: conversion. Sin

    3. The Definition of Sin Quite simply, according to the CCC, sin is an offense against God whereby sinners turn from Gods love through a false love of self (pride). An offense against reason, truth and right conscience.

    4. Where Do We See Sin? Unfortunately.Everywhere! In our relationships: lying, holding grudges,anger,being envious,disobeying In our school: cheating, gossiping, exploiting, being lazy In our world: abuse, gluttany, greed, apathy, violence

    5. Original Sin Adam and Eve deliberately violated a command of God. Their outward act of disobedience was the manifestation of their interior rebellion against God (pride). Their personal sin affected themselves and others.

    6. What is Concupiscence? Concupiscence is a basic human inclination toward evil.

    7. Personal Sin Mortal Sin: Grave Matter Full Knowledge Complete consent Venial Sin: Less Serious Matter Without full consent Without full knowledge

    8. Social Sin Social Sin is a cycle of sin, violence, and injustice caused by individual sins that lead to collective sin.

    9. The Seven Capital Sins Capital means: grave, having serious consequences. These sins are considered serious because they are the underlying causes for most evil habits (vices). Pride Greed (Avarice) Lust Anger (Wrath) Gluttony Envy Sloth

    10. Pride An unlimited appreciations for ones own worth; arrogance, excessively high opinion of ones self.
