  1. Art for Kids – Making it Fun We all know how much kids enjoy art activities. They love it when parents and teachers show off their artistic creations.Art for kids should always be a fun adventure in creativity and imagination. There’s always something new to do in art class! It can be creating new creatures with clay, painting a masterpiece, or sewing an apron. A child’s creativity is strengthened with every new project. Art History – An Important Aspect in Art for Kids It’s worthwhile teaching even young children about art history. They’ll learn there have been certain styles popular in specific eras and that art for kids and adults can take many different forms. Kids will discover favorite artists in days’ past and will see the differences between, for example, Warhol’s pop art prints and Michelangelo’s murals. Exposing Children to a Variety of Art Forms Over time, when exposed to the large variety of art forms available, kids will learn which one appeals to them the most. This goes beyond the typical drawings they make in the classroom. For example, forming sculptures in clay like Sculpey is a sensory experience kids enjoy greatly. When kids create meaningful projects it’s more fun. Kids that perhaps don’t have great drawing ability may enjoy painting sets for plays. Costume design is always fun, even if it doesn’t include drawing, but instead using the imagination to put costumes together. Turning a blank canvas into a work of art can be a daunting thought at first, but once they get to throwing paint down they’ll learn it’s not so hard after all! Their natural skills will come to the forefront, and it will be amazing to see the final product! Art for kids is a rewarding activity, hands down. Don’t neglect it in your curriculum at school or at after school or summer day camp for kids.
