  7. The Strength of the Georgetown District Let's bridge the gap, that we may live and work together not as man over man but as disciples with our various talents uplifting God's Kingdom here on earth. The Lay Organization, being led by the spirit and empowered to serve, will set new goals and a new agenda for the new century and continue to lead the Church from membership to Christian Discipleship. Mr. Norman Deas Lay Organization

  8. The Strength of the Georgetown District Our theme is, "Christian education is that ministry that under girds all other ministries of the church". We seek to give strength, unity, direction and focus to all the works of ministry in the 7th District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, with special emphasis given to our youth and young adults. Our work in the ministry of Christian education creates a foundation for all ministries that is theologically, biblically and historically sound. Rev. Dr. Allen Parrott CED

  9. The Strength of the Georgetown District The Sons of Allen Men's Fellowship was created by the African Methodist Episcopal Church to lead men to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; organize all African Methodist men in Christian fellowship and social action; develop African Methodist men in the skills of prayer, evangelism, Christian stewardship, and Christian spiritual and social services; teach the men of our Church the history, aims, beliefs and programs of the Church, and encourage Christian worship and Bible study; enlist and develop men as leaders and role models for the youth of the Church; encourage AME men to engage in community, state, national and world affairs as Christian citizens; promote the participation of AME Men in the work of the local and Connectional Church in keeping with their abilities, interest and time schedule; encourage such inter-church and connectional activities among AME Men that will aid in creating a sense of Christian community; encourage our men to become witnesses for Christ in their daily occupations; and create a conscious loyalty to the total program of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Mr. Monroe Miller Sons of Allen

  10. It’s connected to the Source of life Church School is a place where people and churches can be transformed: growing leaders for the church’s mission increasing people’s sense of belonging and commitment to stewardship providing a place for new people to make friends and learn to grow as disciples deepening people’s understanding of God’s activity in all of life Church School Department

  15. The Biblical Mandate Matthew 13:24-30 New King James Version (NKJV) The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares 24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”
