  4. Vestibular System The sensory system that responds to the position of the head in relation to gravity and movement.

  5. Activity 1 • Stand on 1 leg! • Now try with your eyes closed

  6. Proprioception Tells the brain when and how the muscles are contracting or stretching and when joints are bending, extending or being compressed.

  7. Activity 2 • Shake the hand of your neighbour • Now close your eyes!

  8. Tactile System The sensory system related to touch. Receptors in the skin send messages to the brain e.g. location, temperature, pain etc.

  9. Activity 3 • Get into pairs • one person into Hook up position • The other person points to a finger for their partner to lift (don’t touch) • Now touch the individual fingers
