Edgar Allan Poe • January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849 • short-story writer, editor and literary critic • he was born as Edgar Poe in Boston, Massachusetts • his parents died when he was young • in 1835he married Virginia Clemm, his 13-year-old cousin • his wife died of tuberculosis in 1847 • in 1849, at age 40, Poe died in Baltimore

Byla půlnoc a moje práce byla skoro u konce. I chose this part because when I read this book, I saw two men in my imaginings. One of them was very drunk and immured in the cave, the second is free and accountable of situation of the first man. Itmusthavebeenverytensioned moment, andformewasveryfunnyandabrusdimaginaiton of two oldmenscreamingto each other in thesomecave.

  7. What I did not knowbeforereadingthebook? • I didn‘t knowwhatistheAmontillado. Now I knowitis a special type ofwine, whichisverydesiredforcelebrations. • Amontillado is a variety of sherryandcomesfromMontilla region ofSpain.

  8. Charakter fromthestories The most interesting story is The Fall of the House of Usher. Person which I choose is from this story. It‘s Roderick Usher, old highbred man. He is the best friend of diseur, which come to Roderick‘s house to help him. Roderick is sick, labile and a bit mental. His family clan is folded in mist and darkness, like a damned. His sister is very sick too, and she died in mystic circumstances.Roderick start to be nervous and his life is ended by shock.

If I wascharacter in thestories.. • If I was Fortunato, old man loving Amontillado, I wouldn't believe to other peoplewhen I am drunk, and I would never go to the vet caves with diseur. • If I was brother the old sailor, who live after the unexpected maelstrom in story number two, I would jump to the water from diving boat and save my life.

  10. Recommendation • When I read exciting passage from this stories in the night or in little light, I sometimes have a strange feel from this book. Unaccomplished or unexplained action, dark atmosphere, omnipresent death and mysteries are doing from this book very dramatic reading. I can this stories with clear conscience recommended to other people.
