43 r d ASECAP Study & Information Days 2015

Learn about the achievements and roadmap for the deployment of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) in Europe, including V2V and I2V/V2I applications, technical standards, and facilitating know-how exchange. Explore the interaction between the Amsterdam Group and corridor deployments, as well as open issues and task forces. Discover the growing network for initial deployment and the need for synchronisation and networking. See how the C-ITS Platform and Amsterdam Group have a symbiotic relationship in driving the deployment of C-ITS services in Europe.

  2. Preparing for the Deployment of CooperAtive ITS sERVICES Examples: C-ITS Deployment Platform

  3. Amsterdam Group Achievements Achievements:* • V2V and I2V/V2I applications for initial deployment (Day One applications) • Roadmap for initial deployment • C-ITS technical standards release 1 • Framework for roles and responsibilities in C-ITS deployment (CEN TS 17427) • Facilitating know-how exchange between initial C-ITS deployment initiatives […] *Includes achievements of Amsterdam Group, its umbrella organisations and cooperating institutions

  4. Interaction between Amsterdam Group and corridor deployments • Roadmap between automotive industry and infrastructure organisations, • Roadmap on initial deployment of Cooperative ITS (C-ITS) in Europe from 2015 onwards, • Roadmap aims at practical recommendations for AG members, • Roadmap on AG level as a guiding star for C-ITS deployment of members in corridors. Deployment initiative […] Deployment initiative […] Deployment initiative […]

  5. Interaction between Amsterdam Group and corridor deployments RWW, IVS, SPAT/MAP, PVD Day one applications with infra involvement Task Forces RWW, IVS, SPAT/MAP, PVD […] NEW: Corridor harmonisation Task Forces e.g. security, infrastructure profiling of system specs, back end services, privacy Amsterdam Group Plenary meeting Amsterdam Group Plenary meeting Amsterdam Group Plenary meeting C-ITS Corridors meeting C-ITS Corridors meeting […] Since 2011 07/2014 09/2014 03/2015

  6. Open Issues Taskforces • Security • System specification profiling • Consistency of legal framework • Radio spectrum and frequency • Deployment, roll-out day one • Roadmap beyond day one • Conformance assessment • Hybrid communication concept • Backend services • Use cases and applications Network of technical experts from the corridors

  7. Growing network for initial deployment • First corridor deployment initiatives (Cooperative ITS Corridor NL-DE-AT, SCOOP@F, BaSIC (CZ)) are active for more than a year now • Number of proposals submitted under the CEF Call 2014 (NordicWay; UK Corridor – A2/M2 Connected Vehicle Corridor; Digicor; SCOOP@F Phase 2) • Elements of coherent deployment • Shared view on some of the day one services (examples: Road Works Warning, In-vehicle signage, Probe Vehicle Data) • Although services may be implemented in a slightly different way • Wider scope of deployment • Technologically: NordicWay focus on cellular communication • Geographically: urban C-ITS included • Modal: freight and logistic services addressed (Digicor) • Need for a service catalogue

  8. Synchronisation and Networking • Timing of the deployment initiatives • Broader wave of pilot deployments within next three to four years • Potentially followed by another wave (similar to US) • Networking of corridors via Amsterdam Group • Interoperability of C-ITS deployments • Unique opportunity to bring together domain experts from the corridor deployments to share information as well as to discuss and mitigate possible divergent approaches • Cross testing – growing interest and facilities • European Commission activities • Framing role via C-ITS Platform • Incentivising role via CEF co-funding and Horizon 2020 funding
