  5. Tools used by Historians Insert Artifact Picture Here Historians use maps to study where civilizations lived, and the type of landforms they endured everyday. Historians also use artifacts like archeologists, but they just don’t go and dig for the artifacts. The historians study the artifacts and discover how they were used in everyday life in the past. Back to Room 1

  6. Historian Insert Artifact Picture Here “Historians study events, ideas, institutions, and individuals of the past. They may research and interpret events that occurred in the earliest periods of recorded time or ones that people can remember. Unlike archaeologists, who work chiefly with physical objects, historians rely mostly on written records for evidence to support their claims. However, historians sometimes use physical objects, such as photographs, costumes, and tools, to shed light on past lifestyles. Historians often try to relate knowledge of the past to present-day situations or problems.” Read more: http://careers.stateuniversity.com/pages/403/Historian.html#ixzz1ZItanan6 Back to Room 1

  7. Colleges Louisiana State University has many opportunity's for Historians at their school. They have an entire library dedicated to history, and they have many courses historians can take to prepare for the job field they are trying to get into. Back to Room 1

  8. Archeologist Insert Artifact Picture Here “An archaeologist is someone who studies people and what they did in the past from the things they left behind.  Archaeologists might study early Native Americans, early European settlers, such as the pilgrims, or old factory buildings. An archaeologist looks for artifacts (objects made by people) that will reveal more about the past.  Artifacts can be many different things.  An arrowhead is an artifact, or beads made by Native Americans and so is an old coin. ” http://www.lrp.usace.army.mil/lmon/what_arch1.htm Back to Room 2

  9. Tools used by Archeologists Insert Artifact Picture Here Archeologists use many different types of digging tools such as picks and shovels. They use these to dig around in common spots of where they believed artifacts could be found. When they believe they have discovered an artifact they uses brushes, and scraping tools to scrape away the dirt to really get a look at the artifact. Back to Room 2

  10. Colleges Grand Canyon University is the most common school with the most graduating archeologists. They have several courses about the study of artifacts, and classes where you actually get to go out and dg for artifacts. Back to Room 2
