  1. S.A.哥德史密特 (GOUDSMIT, Samuel Abraham) • 荷裔美籍物理学家，生于1902年7月11日，卒于1978年12月4日。1928到1941年，他在密歇根大学任教；1941到1946年，在麻省技术研究所工作；1948年后，在布鲁海文国家实验室工作，特别是从事原子光谱结构研究。 • 1925年他与G.乌伦贝克一起将电子自旋引入量子理论。这个概念的重要性远远超过发现者的预料。1944至1945年，他是盟军调查德国原子能研究计划秘密代表团“Alsos”的领导人。1964年德国物理学会授予他普朗克勋章。
