Coastwatch : The ESA GMES service for the environmental management and monitoring of European coastal areas.Coastwatch maritime component processes daily MERIS data in addition to SeaWiFS, MODIS and AVHRR. Aggregated products (daily, weekly,..) are routinely distributed to Coastwatch users for monitoring purpose. Illustrative cases of monitoring of water quality are presented based on the marine and WFD service of Coastwatch: - SST- Water Colour products (Chla, PAR, SPM….) - Higher level products (primary production, sea waters clarity) MERIS User Workshop – Frascati –2003, November 10/13
