Program for at least 12 months • Create units of work incorporating water conservation as a topic • Communicate learning’s to the school community • Commitment to participate in activities for National Water Week or World Water Day • Teacher participation in Water Learn it! Live it! professional development sessions • Knowledge of SWEP program and begin to monitor school water consumption Possible pictureplacement area

Live it! resource? • A comprehensive education package provided free of charge to schools by Melbourne's water businesses, designed to: • support and guide schools in developing their own interesting and engaging programs to empower the school community in discovering the importance and value of water • allow schools to actively implement water conservation and water education across the curriculum • assist schools to reduce water consumption and improve water management

  5. Exploring the Water – Learn it! Live it! resource • The Water - Learn it! Live it! education resource contains: • Information about how water education aligns with VELS, multiple intelligences & Bloom’s taxonomy. • Over 140 activity ideas and Blackline Masters (pg 31-348) • Planning templates, teacher resources, posters, tours and excursions details, student activities and projects and much, much more! Possible pictureplacement area

Assistance from your water businesses What we can do for you…. • Guidance in planning units of work around water • Assistance with school audit and management plans • Assistance with applying for grants that require partnerships • Provide resources for your day of celebration - speakers, activities, trailers • Connections to other organisations within the environmental industry • Provide extra resources – promotional items, information, tours of water facilities and classroom activities Possible pictureplacement area

  8. Schools Water Efficiency Program • The Schools Water Efficiency Program (SWEP) is a retrofit program, which helps all schools connected to a reticulated water supply to save water and promote water awareness throughout the community.

Schools Water Efficiency Program • Participating schools receive the Water Efficiency Services, which comprise: • A Water Efficiency Audit of your school's indoor water use and a copy of the Water Audit Report. • A list describing further water conservation opportunities. • A nominated set number of water efficiency measures determined by the size of your school, supplied and installed by a licensed plumber. • An accreditation certificate and outdoor sign to display at the main entrance. These will be presented at regional celebrations and media events. In some instances schools will be featured in case studies. • Access to a web site which allows all participating schools to monitor their performance and understand how efficient their water use is relative to schools of a similar size.
