  2. The Eagle landed on the Moon’s surface at 20:17. The shuttle enters the Moon’s orbit at 17:21 on July 19th. At 18:11 the lunar module (The Eagle) containing Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin left the main shuttle and descended to the Moon. Shuttle is launched from Florida, USA at 13:32 on July 16th 1969 At 16:16 the Shuttle leaves the Earth’s orbit and sets off towards the Moon. The shuttle does one and a half orbits around the Earth. Cut these out and stick them at the right places around the diagram. The Eagle landed on the Moon’s surface at 20:17. The shuttle enters the Moon’s orbit at 17:21 on July 19th. 3. 1. Neil Armstrong had a mass of 70kg. • What was his weight at: • Point 1? • Point 3? • c) Point 6? • NB. (gravity on Earth = 10N/kg and on Moon = 1.6N/kg) • What was his mass at each of these places? • How long, in hours did it take to reach the moon? • Pretend you are Neil Armstrong. Write a sentence in you diary for each point in the journey to explain how you are feeling. BONUS QUESTION – 4pp if you get this right! One orbit of the Earth is about 23,000 miles. The shuttle did 1.5 orbits in 3.75 hours. How fast was it going in miles per hour? • 1. Neil Armstrong had a mass of 70kg. • What was his weight at: • Point 1? • Point 3? • c) Point 6? • NB.
