  3. HUYANG BL-55* • ACTIONS: Activates the channel and alleviates pain, Stops uterine bleeding and treats pain of the genitals • INDICATIONS: Low back pain, pain and paralysis of the lower extremities, uterine bleeding, leukorrhea, pain of the genitals.

  4. CHENGJIN BL-56* • ACTIONS: Relaxes the sinews, activates the channel and alleviates pain, Benefits the foot and heel • INDICATIONS: Spasm of gastrocnemius, pain and contraction of the foot and heel, hemorrhoids, acute lower back pain.

  5. CHENGSHAN BL-57*** • ACTIONS: Relaxes the sinews, activates the channel and alleviates pain, Benefits the calf and heel, Treats Hemorrhoids • INDICATIONS: Low back pain, spasm of gastrocnemius, heel pain, hemorrhoids, constipation, leg qi.

  15. ZHIYIN BL-67*** • Jing-Well and Metal point • ACTIONS: Expels wind and clears the head and eyes, Turns the fetus and facilitates labor • INDICATIONS: Headache, nasal obstruction, nosebleed, eye pain, dysuria, malposition of fetus, difficult labor, retention of afterbirth, hot soles.

  17. The Kidney primary channel connects with the following zangfu: Kidney, Bladder, Liver, Lung, Heart.

THE KIDNEY LUO-CONNECTING CHANNEL • begins at KID-4 on the posterior aspect of the medial malleolus, • encircles the heel and enters internally to connect with the Bladder channel, • ascends along with the Kidney primary channel from KID-4 to a point below the Pericardium where it travels posteriorly to and spreads into the lumbar vertebrae.

THE KIDNEY DIVERGENT CHANNEL • separates from the Kidney primary channel in the popliteal fossa, • intersects the Bladder divergent channel on the thigh, • ascends to connect with the Kidneys, • crosses the Girdling vessel in the region of the second lumbar vertebra, • ascends to the root of the tongue, • continues upwards to emerge at the nape of the neck and converge with the Bladder primary channel.

The Kidneys have five principal functions: • storing essence and dominating reproduction, growth and development. • producing marrow, filling up the brain, dominating bones and assisting in the production of blood. • dominating water. • controlling the reception of qi. • opening into the ears and dominating the two lower yin (the anus and urethra).

  21. In addition, the Kidneys: • are the lowest zang. • are the root of the original yin and yang of the body. • conserve and control the ming men fire. • house the will. • are the foundation of the Conception and Penetrating vessels

  22. The actions and indications of the points of the Kidney channel can be summarized as: • rooting pathologically ascending heat, qi, yang and wind. Points of the Kidney channel are frequently used clinically both to nourish yin (e.g. KID-3) and to strongly descend pathogens from the head (e.g. KID-1). • nourishing yin and clearing deficiency heat in the treatment of night sweating, wasting and thirsting disorder etc.

  23. nourishing Liver yin to counteract uprising of Liver yang in the treatment of headache, dizziness etc. • nourishing Kidney water to balance excessive Heart fire, and harmonizing the will and the spirit in the treatment of restlessness, insomnia, etc. • rooting the qi and harmonizing the relationship between the Kidneys and Lung in the treatment of cough, asthma, etc.

YONGQUAN KID-1*** • Jing-Well and Wood point • ACTIONS: Descends excess from the head, Calms the spirit, Revives consciousness and rescues yang • INDICATIONS: Loss of consciousness, headache, blurring of vision, dizziness, sore throat, dry tongue, dysuria, infantile convulsions, agitation, rage, hot soles, leg qi.

RANGU KID-2*** • Ying-Spring and Fire point • ACTIONS: Clears deficiency heat, Regulates the Kidneys, Regulates the lower jiao • INDICATIONS: Deficiency Fire: Throat dryness and soreness, genital itch, dysuria, nocturnal emissions, impotence, night sweating, dyspnea, coughing blood, irregular menstruation, fearfulness, swelling and pain of the instep.

  30. INDICATIONS • Any Kidney Pattern • Deafness, tinnitus, headache and dizziness, toothache, sore throat, wasting and thirsting disorder, emaciation. • Cough, wheezing, dyspnea, asthma. • Insomnia, excessive dreaming, poor memory, heat sensation in the palms.

Seminal emission, impotence, premature ejaculation, sexual taxation, irregular menstruation. • Frequent and copious urination, enuresis, abdominal distention, difficult defecation. • Lumbar pain, cold hands and feet, coldness of the lower limbs, numbness and pain of the legs, swelling and pain of the ankle, swelling and pain of the heel.

  32. DAZHONG KID-4** • Luo-Connecting point • ACTIONS: Reinforces the Kidneys, Anchors the qi and benefits the Lung, Strengthens the will and dispels fear • INDICATIONS: Coughing blood, asthma, stiffness and pain of the lower back, dysuria, constipation, pain in the heel, fear & fright, dementia.

  33. SHUIQUAN KID-5** • Xi-Cleft point • ACTIONS: Regulates the Penetrating and Conception vessels and benefits menstruation • INDICATIONS: Amenorrhea, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrrhea, prolapse of uterus, dysuria, blurring of vision.

  34. ZHAOHAI KID-6***** • Confluent point of the Yin Motility vessel • ACTIONS: Benefits the throat, Nourishes the Kidneys and clears deficiency heat, Regulates the Yin Motility vessel, Calms the spirit, Regulates the lower jiao • Primarily treats Kidney Yin Deficiency

Swelling/pain/dryness of the throat, visual disturbance, dizziness. • Insomnia, somnolence, night-time epilepsy, sadness, fright, nightmares, five palm heat. • Frequent urination, bloody urine, edema, constipation. • Irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, leukorrhea, itching of the genitals, seminal emission, hypogastric pain. • Tightness of the medial leg, deficiency in the elderly, cramps of the feet and hands.

FULIU KID-7**** • Jing-River and Metal point • ACTIONS: Benefits the Kidneys, Regulates the water passages and treats edema, Regulates sweating, Drains damp and clears damp-heat, Strengthens the lumbar region • INDICATIONS: Kidney Yang Deficiency: Edema, abdominal distension, diarrhea, borborygmus, impotence, seminal emission, muscular atrophy of leg, night or spontaneous sweating, fever without sweating.

JIAOXIN KID-8** • Xi-Cleft point of the Yin Motility vessel • ACTIONS: Regulates the Conception and Penetrating vessels and adjusts menstruation, Stops uterine bleeding, Clears heat and drains damp from the lower jiao • INDICATIONS: Irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, uterine bleeding, prolapse of uterus, dysuria, diarrhea, constipation, pain and swelling of testes.

  48. YINDU KID-19* • ACTIONS: Regulates qi and harmonizes the Stomach, Lowers rebellion and alleviates cough and wheezing • INDICATIONS: Borborygmus, abdominal pain, epigastric pain, constipation, vomiting, coughing and wheezing.

  49. FUTONGGU KID-20* • ACTIONS: Harmonizes the middle jiao, Unbinds the chest and transforms phlegm • INDICATIONS: Abdominal pain and distention, vomiting, indigestion, cough, wheezing, palpitations.

  50. YOUMEN KID-21* • ACTIONS: Fortifies the Spleen, harmonizes the Stomach, and lowers rebellion, Spreads Liver qi, benefits the chest and breasts and alleviates pain • INDICATIONS: Abdominal pain and distention, indigestion, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, morning sickness, insufficient lactation.
