  1. 2016 Ramadan 2016 Date Ramadan 2016 will begin on 6th June 2016 in most parts of the world, Insha Allah! Please read our Ramadan 2016 announcement for more details.

  2. When does Ramadan 2016 Begin? We are very pleased to announce that Ramadan 2016 / Ramzan 1437 will begin on 6th June 2016, Monday in most countries of the world, except a large part of Oceania and a few of the eastern-most countries of Asia. We invite you to take a look at the visibility curves for Ramadan 2016 (1437). You will notice that the Ramadan moon will be born on Sunday, June 05, at 02:59 UTC. As it will be born very early after the day start (in UTC), there will be great chances of its visibility on the same day evening, in the countries belonging to the western part of the world. As can be seen in the visibility curve, there are good chances of direct Ramadan Crescent Visibility in the Polynesian islands and inall of South and Central America, all these countries being either in the green or the blue visibility belt. Indirect Crescent visibility will be acquired in all of Northern America, all of Europe, all of Africa and in large parts of Asia before the Fajr prayer in the respective countries (the concept of extended visibility). Thus most parts of the world (except some countries of Asia and the major part of Oceania) will be able to start Ramadan on the next day, Monday, 6th June 2016. The remaining countries of Asia and the majority of the countries in Oceania will begin Ramadan on Tuesday, June 07. We have published below an extensive list of countries arranged as per the beginning date of the Ramadan 2016. Those who would like to get more details about why Ramadan cannot be on the same day all over the world are requested to read our detailed introduction to the Islamic Calendar. On 5th June 2016, Sunday, we will publish Ramadan 1437 live moon sighting reports along with photographs situated to the right of this announcement. These reports will be provided by our astronomer friends and will also be sourced from icoproject.org and moonsighting.com. We invite you to visit our site towards the beginning of Ramadan in order to get updates about crescent sighting. On the very auspicious day of Eid al-Fitr 2016, we will release country specific Islamic calendars for Hijri year 1438. Hence, please do not forget to visit our site and download the calendar for your country on the day of Eid! We have also published detailed Ramadan 2016 calendar.
