  2. Introdution Grace O’ Malley was an Irish Pirate who sailed the seas during the life Queen Elizabeth 1. She raided ships from Scotland to Spain for 50 years. She lived a hard and exciting life as Pirate Queen.

  3. Her Life • Only daughter of Irish Cheiftain Dudara (Black Oak) O’Malley • Legend that Grace fought off a group of eagles that were stealing sheep • Nicknamed Grainne Mhaol (bald) because she shaved her head and ran off to sea

  4. Her Life con. • At age 15 she married Donald O’Flaherty and began life as a Pirate Captain • Captures Cock’s Castle and named it Hen’s Castle • Fought in sea battle with Turks one day after birth of son

  5. Her Life con. • Married second husband Richard- in- Iron Bourke • Divorced him and locked him out of his own castle a year later • Captured by Richard Bingham but was later released

  6. Her Life con. • Bingham killed 2 of her sons and captured many of her ships and cattle Met with Queen Elizbeth1 as one Queen to another got privateer’s marque and salied for England until death

  7. Concluding Paragraph Grace O’ Malley was fascnied with the sea her entire life. She ran to sea at age 8 and spent her whole life at sea. Grace died in 1603 as one of the most powerful women in England and Ireland.
