  2. Eine ICT-Gesamtstrategie für die ETH Zürich Prof. Bernhard Plattner

  3. Warum eine ICT-Strategie? • Gute ICT-Infrastruktur hat eine grosse Bedeutung für die Konkurrenzfähigkeit einer Universität • ETH hat traditionell beträchtliche Mittel für die Entwicklung der ICT-Infrastruktur bereitgestellt; das soll auch weiterhin so bleiben • Auf der Konzeptebene ist jedoch die Verwendung von ICT nicht in genügendem Mass definiert worden. • Insbesondere fehlen: • Strategie für den Einsatz von ICT im Lernen und Lehren (BSc/MSc/Diplom/Weiterbildung) • Formulierte Bedürfnisse der Departemente bezüglich der ICT-Dienste der Bibliotheken; Rolle von elektronischen Zeitschriften. • Formulierte Bedürfnisse für die Forschung • etc.

  4. Was hat das mit ETH World zu tun? • ETH World strebt die Versorgung der ETH mit einer innovativen ICT-Infrastruktur an • Kernaufgaben: Lehren und Lernen, Forschen, damit verbundene Management-Aufgaben • ETH World bisher als Bottom-Up Prozess • Peer Review 2003 hat Fehlen einer übergreifenden Strategie bemängelt • Empfehlung an die Schulleitung

  5. Reaktion der Schulleitung • Beschluss der SL (Jan. 2004): Entwicklung einer Gesamtstrategie • Projektsteuerung: Rektor Prof. Konrad Osterwalder, VP Prof. Gerhard Schmitt, VP Prof. Ulrich W. Suter, Prof. Bill Mitchell (MIT) • Prof. Bernhard Plattner leitet Strategiegruppe • Einbezug der Departemente ist wichtig
