  1. NOAA National Ocean Service (NOS) Requirements for GOES-R Ocean Color Capability Applications that support NOS missions Detecting harmful algal blooms and monitoring water clarity are two applications that use ocean color data to provide timely reliable water quality information to coastal managers. HAB (in red) Off Florida Successful applications hinge on reliable estimates of surface chlorophyll and water clarity in turbid and clear waters. Chlorophyll Off Florida Reliable estimates of these variables hinge on frequent and synoptic measurements at the following wavelengths (nm): 412, 443, 490, 510, 555, 580, 610, 645, 667, 708, 765, 865. Sediment and algal bloom off Texas Justification, Demonstrated Legacy and Examples are provided in the poster. Presenters: V. Ransibrahmankul, R. Stumpf, J. Pereira.
