  2. Early Life • Harper Lee was born in Monroeville, Alabama. • April 28,1926 • Father owned part of the newspaper, state senator, and a lawyer. • Mother supposedly had bipolar.

  3. Childhood friends • Truman Capote, was one of her best friends. • He was also a fellow writer.

  4. College Life/ Early Adulthood • Started at a all girls school then transferred to the University of Alabama 1945-1949. • Literary Honors society • School newspaper • After she went to New York to pursue her dream as a writer.
