  7. ASIA KOREA : NO SHOES- When entering a Korean home, you must remove your shoes. To do any less is a sign of great disrespect. Koreans have a special relationship with their floor, on which they sit and often sleep. A dirty floor is intolerable in a Korean home. Bow-wow- Yes, some Koreans do eat dog meat, despite some sporadic attempts by the government to shut down the boshingtang (dog meat soup) restaurants, in order to improve the country’s “international image.” Dog meat is mainly consumed during the summer and by men, who claim that it does wonders for stamina.

  8. ASIA JAPAN: TABLE MANNERS- Slurping noodles or making loud noises while eating is OK! In fact, slurping hot food like ramen is polite, to show you are enjoying it. -Just before digging in, whether it be a seven-course dinner or a sample at a supermarket, it’s polite to say “itadakimasu” (I will receive). No Tipping There is no tipping in any situation in Japan – cabs, restaurants, personal care. To tip someone is actually a little insulting; the services you’ve asked for are covered by the price given, so why pay more?

  9. SOUTH AMERICA BRAZIL: The legal drinking and smoking age is 18 years Sucking your thumb indicates a feeling of being left out Gestures: The traditional American OK sign , with thumb and index finger forming a circle, is an obscene gesture . The "thumbs-up" sign is used to show approval. Brazilians beckon each other with the palm of the hand facing down. To get someone's attention from a distance, Brazilians say "pssssst." They never whistle at people.

  10. SOUTH AMERICA COLOMBIA: HOUSE GIFTS- When going to a Colombian's home, bring fruit, a potted plant, or quality chocolates for the hostess. Flowers should be sent in advance but do not give lilies or marigolds as they are used at funerals. Roses are liked DINING ETTIQUT- Hands should be kept visible when eating. Do not rest elbows on the table. * The host will say "buenprovecho" (enjoy or have a good meal) as an invitation to start eating.

  11. EUROPE SPAIN- Do not be alarmed by a dirty floor in a bar. It is completely acceptable and normal to throw things on the ground in bars. Most of the time a dirty floor means a good bar! Sunflower seeds are big deal in Spain. More importantly, Spaniards are really talented at opening and eating them at a shocking speed. Spain is home to the world´s largest tomato fight: LA TOMATINA, celebrated every year in a village of Valencia.

  12. EUROPE FRANCE: It is also essential to use Monseiur, Madame or Mademoiselle if you are speaking to someone you do not know. Remember also that the French stand close to each other when they converse and do not raise their voices. It would be considered extremely rude to yell across a room at someone, or to yell for anything, except in an argument THE FRENCH DO NOT USE DEODARANT!!!
