  2. La sfârşitul secolului al XIX-lea, un grafician polonez, Leonard Salmen, despre care astăzi nu se mai ştie aproape nimic, a ilustrat, începând din 1898, 94 dintre poeziile lui Eminescu în 179 de lucrări grafice.

  3. In the late nineteenth century, a Polish graphic artist, Leonard Salmen, illustrated 94 of Eminescu's poems. Eminescu is Romania’s national poet.

  4. In primele două decenii ale sec. XX, cunoscutele edituri bucureştene Socec şi Depozitul Universal Saraga au reprodus în mai multe tiraje lucrările lui Salmen sub forma de cărţi poştale, care se bucurau de un mare succes la public.

  5. In the first two decades of the 20thcentury, the well known publishers from Bucharest, Socec and Depozitul Universal Saraga, reproduced Salmen's works as postcards, which became a great success at the time.

  6. Ilustraţiile romantice ale lui Leonard Salmen erau la modă , publicul folosind frecvent aceste cărţi poştale în corespondenţă, prin anii 1900-1912. Azi ele se găsesc în colecţii.

  7. The public frequently used these postcards with Salmen’s romantic illustrations for correspondence, through the years 1900-1912. Today they can be only found in collections.
