Major in Technology Education • Middle School Technology Teacher • High School Technology Teacher • Community College Technology Teacher • Technical College Technology Teacher • Technology Trainer in Industry and Business • Presently, there are approximately 3-4 teaching positions available for every graduate. • Signing bonuses and loan forgiveness programs are often available.

  11. What is a Technology Teacher? Ateacher that teaches: • -Action-based activities. • -Hands-on, investigative, design/construct, and problem solving activities. • -In laboratories equipped with modern technological tools, devices, computers, modules, and simulators. • -About… -Communication-the exchange of information -Manufacturing-the production of goods -Construction-the fabrication of structures -Transportation/energy-the movement of objects or forces - Environmental Issues-effects of technology and society

  12. What Does a Technology Teacher Teach? For example, a technology teacher helps students learn how to: • Build and test a solar collector; • Produce a television commercial using videotapes; • Plan and develop an enterprise to produce a product; • Design, build, wire, program & operate a small robot; • Construct a high efficiency vehicle; and • Assess the impacts of technology on the environment.

  13. National Standards The Standards for Technological Literacy & Advancing Excellence in Technological Literacyhave been developed with close cooperation with science, mathematics, & engineering, with support from the NSF and NASA.
