  7. THE BATS MODIFIED IRREGULAR WARM-UP Visible rivets Painted barrel. Barrel rubbed with sandpaper. Foreign material in the bat. More than 2 layers of grip tape on the handle. Cone attached to the bat • Rough or sharp edges. • One piece rubber grip. • Security grip bigger or smaller than 38,1cm. • Big bumps. • Resin sticking out ot the 38,1cm of the grip. • Absence of official brand (ISF ou ASA 2000 ou ASA 2004). • Larger part larger than 5,7cm. • Weight is superior to 1077gr and length superior to 86,4cm. Regulatory warm-up stick or two Softball bats or with a donut weight on the bat

  8. THE BATS PENALTIES • ILLEGAL BAT: When the batter enters the batter’s box, he will be OUT. B. MODIFIED BAT : When the batter enters the batter’s box with a modified bat, or is found out using one, he will be OUT and will be OUT OF THE GAME for the rest of the softball game.

  9. SHOES or SPIKES (Rule 3. Sec. 5) Must be worn by every player. Can have hard or soft rubber cleats. Metal cleats ar legal for adults. Metal or polyurethane cleats are forbidden for youth games (junior and -) Shoes with removable cleats than can be screwed to the shoes are authorized.   10. PANTS AND SLIDING PROTECTION (Rule 3. Sec. 8c) • Sliding shorts are legal if they are the same color as the shorts. B. Pitchers can wear white sliding shorts under their shorts.

  15. OFFENSIVE VISITS One visit per inning : batter, batter in the on deck circle, coaches between them It’s not a visit if the coach talks to the batter when the opposing team asks for a time-out. One visit per Tie-Break inning If the coach asks for a 2nd visit, the umpire must refuse. If the coach insists, he should be ejected of the game. DEFENSIVE VISITS Three visits per game : defensive players, coaches It’s not a visit if the coach talks to a defense player when the opposing team asks for a time-out. One visit per Tie-Break inning. After the 4th visit, the pitcher becomes illegal, he/she can play in another defensive position but can no longer pitch.
