Different pathways Level 4 University or work related choices Level 3 GCE A levels BTEC Level 3 (Sport, Business, Health and Social Care, Leisure and Tourism) Sixth Form Level 2 GCSE A*-C BTEC Level 2 (Business, Art, H&S Care) Swakeleys Level 1 GCSE D-G BTEC Level 1 ‘Traditional’ route Vocational Route Majority examination 100% coursework assessed

  3. Pathways Pathways in 6th Form • 4 Pathways to ensure that all students achieve their potential • The Pathways are based on GCSE APS IMPORTANT: • All pathways are in negotiation with Mr Hull on interview and on recommendations from subject staff prior to that interview.

  4. Pathway 1 Pathway 1 Aimed at the A*/A grade students Yr 12 4 AS and General Studies Yr 13 4 A2 and EPQ Students will qualify for this pathway if they achieve APS (GCSE) of 6.4+

  5. Pathway 2 Pathway 2 Aimed at the A/B/C grade students Yr 12 4 AS and General Studies Yr 13 3 or 4 A2 Students will qualify for this pathway if they achieve APS (GCSE) of 5.8-6.39

  6. Pathway 3 Pathway 3 Aimed at the B/C/D grade students Yr 12 1 AS and 3 Level 3 qualifications Yr 13 1 A2 and 2 or 3 Level 3 qualifications Students will qualify for this pathway if they achieve APS (GCSE) of 5-5.79

  7. Pathway 4 Pathway 4 Aimed at the vocational students from KS4 A combination of Level 3 qualifications over the 2 years Students will qualify for this pathway if they achieve APS (GCSE) of 5 and below.

  8. THE RUSSELL GROUP: Oldest 24 Universities Eg : Birmingham expects 7A*s at GCSE (as well as top A levels) to do Medicine Eg: Imperial requires A* in Maths to do Computer Science Eg: Economics requires A* in A Level Maths (many Russell Group Uni’s) NB: if you want to do Law at Uni- you should NOT choose Law at A Level!! You need to research this carefully BEFORE selecting your A Levels.

  9. THE 1994 Group: Newer Univerisites established to promote excellence in research and teaching Many of these Unis will require AAA! NB: if you want to do Law at Uni- you should NOT choose Law at A Level!! You need to research this carefully BEFORE selecting your A Levels.
