  5. Лондон 2012 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games will result to an estimated £2.34 billion of benefits to the UK tourism industry. Half of this amount is being directly attributed to business tourism. A number of challenges need to be met however in order to leave a lasting legacy for the entire meetings and events community: Existing negative perceptions of the cost and logistical issues of holding an event, particularly in London A desire to highlight the industry's skills, creativity and expertise as leaders in our field to the rest of the world The need to present a unified approach to ensure all business events taking place up to and during 2012 reflect the values and aspirations of the stakeholders. In response to these challenges, Visit London has produced a voluntary code of practice with the support and input of key events industry trade and marketing bodies, stakeholders and relevant delivery agencies.  It is the first initiative of its kind to be launched across a nation to coincide with the handover of the Games. The charter will be championed by an industry working group, together with support from Visit London and VisitBritain, to ensure continued industry engagement. There are also plans to provide future forums for the industry to share knowledge and increase communication. Visit London is now inviting all event suppliers to register their interest in joining this initiative and form a group of professional organisations who are committed to making the Games a success for all.

День у Лондоні • London's Royal History • Take a tour of London's Royal locations, from the Tower of London and the Crown Jewels to the Queen's art collection at Buckingham Palace. • You're guaranteed a right Royal day out! • Morning • Start the day with an insight into almost 1,000 years of British Royal history at the Tower of London. Once inside the forbidding medieval gates you can marvel at the Crown Jewels and shudder at the Bloody Tower. • While in the grounds, don't forget to look for the ravens. These magnificent birds are cared for by one of the Yeomen Warders. It's said that the day the ravens leave the Tower, England will fall. We very much hope they are there when you visit! • The next stop is less ghoulish, but equally thrilling. The Tower Bridge Exhibition is awe inspiring, with its historic engine rooms and stunning views from the high level walkways. • Then it's time to head to the swanky riverside destination known as Butler's Wharf. Once the largest warehouse complex on the Thames, the area is now a shrine to gastronomy and design. Many of the restaurants here are large enough for groups. • Afternoon • After lunch it's off to the Queen's London residence, Buckingham Palace. During the summer months the lavish State Rooms are open to visitors, and from March to October you can take a tour of the Royal Mews, where you'll see the Queen's magnificent horses and the State Coach. • The Queen's Gallery exhibits paintings from the Royal art collection and is open all year round. If you didn't manage to have tea with Her Majesty, don't worry. There are plenty of refreshment outlets in serene St James's Park, including the lovely Inn The Park.
