  1. Uke 18/2010 Ukens grønne anbefaling Vannmelon Det finnes mange forskjellige sorter meloner. Felles for de ulike sortene er at de er gode kilder til vitamin C. Vannmelonen kan brukes naturell, til kokt eller røkt skinke eller spekeskinke og annen spekemat. Den egner seg også utmerket i grønne salater, eller som melonsuppe. Andre varianter er chutney, baking og sylting. Vannmelonen har en relativt høy glykemisk indeks (GI), noe som har gjort at den ufortjent har fått et dårlig ord på seg i flere dietter. Vannmelon er en super sommerfrukt, noe vi kan slurpe i oss med god samvittighet. Mvh. Karsten Skovly Storkjøkken A/S
