  4. 1. XPoSat: India’s Pioneering Polarimetry Mission XPoSat is India’s first X-ray Polarimeter Satellite. It explores the polarization of X-rays from cosmic sources. Polarization reveals valuable details about magnetic fields, geometry, and emission mechanisms. Launched on May 30, 2023, by ISRO, XPoSat carries two identical X-ray polarimeters. It observes pulsars, black holes, neutron stars, and supernova remnants. And advancing our understanding of extreme physical processes. Plus, testing theories of gravity and quantum mechanics.

  5. 2. Topaz: Infosys’ AI-driven Services, Solutions, and Platforms Topaz, introduced by Infosys, is an AI-centric suite of services, solutions, and platforms. Its aim is to accelerate enterprises’ digital transformation using AI, ML, NLP, computer vision, and cloud computing. Topaz offers diverse capabilities like data engineering, data science, and conversational AI. Along with computer vision, intelligent automation, and cloud-native development. It caters to various industries such as banking, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and education.

  6. 3. Hydrogen Fuel-Cell-Powered Car India successfully completes trials for its first hydrogen fuel-cell-powered car. This technology generates electrical energy through chemical reactions between hydrogen and oxygen. And that successfully helps to eliminate fossil fuel usage. Developed by CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) and KPIT Technologies Ltd. with acute support from the Ministry of Science & Technology. The car offers a range of 250 km per kg of hydrogen and emits only water vapor as a by-product. Expected commercial availability by 2025, reducing India’s oil dependency and greenhouse gas emissions.

  7. 4. Development of India’s First 5G-enabled Drone IG Drones, a startup from VSSUT in Odisha, pioneers the development of Skyhawk, a 5G-enabled drone. Skyhawk is a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that has uses in the military, healthcare, and other industries Significant Launch of India’s Intranasal Vaccine for COVID-19 Bharat Biotech introduces iNCOVACC, an intranasal vaccine for COVID-19 Administered through the nose, it serves as a booster dose, approved by Indian authorities.

  8. 5. ISRO Conducts Successful RLV LEX Test ISRO successfully completed the Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing Mission (RLV LEX) in Karnataka on April 2, 2023. RLV LEX aims to develop a space plane capable of orbit-to-Earth travel with aircraft-like landings. At 4.5 km above mean sea level, the RLV-TD is released, with a 4.6 km downward range. The test covers ten parameters, including release mechanism, guidance system, control, and navigation. The aim is to execute approach and landing maneuvers, with the RLV-TD successfully carrying out an autonomous landing.

  9. 6. India’s First Pod Taxi Project The Yamuna Authority approves India’s first pod taxi project, a personalized rapid transit system. Automated and eco-friendly, it connects Noida International Airport and Film City over a 12–14 km route with 12 stops. Pod taxis operate on separate tracks, avoiding road traffic, and are powered by electricity. They transport a fixed number of passengers. Plus, represent one of the most advanced transportation modes available.

  10. 7. India’s Supercomputer AIRAWAT Achieves Global Recognition India’s AI supercomputer, “AIRAWAT,” is ranked 75th on the coveted Top 500 Global Supercomputing List. At the 61st International Supercomputing Conference (ISC 2023), this accomplishment was announced. ‘AIRAWAT,’ located at C-DAC Pune, drives India’s AI capabilities under the National Program on AI. Equipped with cluster-based processing, ‘AIRAWAT’ performs complex calculations, far exceeding laptops or desktops. Its incredible computational capabilities reach quadrillions of calculations per second. And that significantly sets it apart from typical personal computers.

  11. 8. ISRO’s Successful Launch: OneWeb India-2 Mission ISRO and NSIL achieved a significant milestone with the successful launch of the OneWeb India-2 mission. The oal was to launch 36 satellites into an orbit with a diameter of 450 km and an inclination of 87.4 degrees. The LVM3 rocket, utilized for the 6th time, played a crucial role in accomplishing this mission. LVM3 rocket, a three-stage vehicle, was utilized for the mission. It has S200 solid motors (1st stage), L110 twin liquid engines (2nd stage), and C25 cryogenic upper stage. The cryogenic stage is uniquely designed for precise satellite deployment and collision avoidance.

  12. 9. Ground-breaking Discovery of a Dense Exoplanet There is a great deal of excitement among scientists and space enthusiasts about the discovery of a dense exoplanet. The star TOI4603 or HD 245134, which is orbited by this exoplanet, is an interesting object of research. The newly discovered exoplanet falls into the category of massive giants, with a mass over four times that of Jupiter. India has made notable contributions to the 3 recent exoplanet discoveries, including this one. The PARAS Spectrograph, housed at the Mt. Abu observatory, played a vital role in this groundbreaking discovery. The spectrograph employed in PARAS has a resolution of 67000. Hence, it allows for precise radial velocity measurements.
