  1. Everything About IPTV When discussing about streaming enabled devices, you may have often heard of IPTV. Even if you haven’t heard of the term before, you may very well be using an IPTV device for a while now. As more and more providers are offering their services on it, IPTV is continuously gaining popularity among users. But what exactly is IPTV? What Is IPTV? IPTV or Internet Protocol TV delivers live television programming as well as video on demand services through internet connected IPTV set-top boxes. Do not confuse it with services like Netflix, Hulu etc. While IPTV does transmit TV programming, it is independent of cable or satellite and delivers channels through IP based networks. In a big way that it differs from regular TV is that with IPTV you are never compelled to watch what is being broadcasted, instead, you can request your service provider what you wish to watch and he’ll directly send it to your IPTV set-top box. Why Do You Need an IPTV Set-Top Box? Traditional TVs are not programmed to receive IPTV signals that is why if you wish to use internet TV services, you may need to get yourself an IPTV set-top box. Although if your TV has screen mirroring available capabilities, you may be able to mirror its screen and enjoy internet protocol television on your TV as computers do not require a set-top box to run the IPTV services. So, how does it work? IPTV services work through three different ways. Let’s have a look at them one by one. 1. Time-Shifted Media

  2. You may be familiar with the concept of ‘catch-up TV’. Time-shifted media works in an identical way. You can watch a show that you recently missed at your convenience but only in a limited cycle of time. 2. Video On-Demand The video on demand or VOD service allows you to watch whatever you want whenever you want. No, it is not same as time-shifted media as through time-shifted media you can only watch what the channels are currently airing while VOD allows you to watch everything available with the VOD provider. 3. Live Stream Just like a live television broadcast, you can easily watch live through IPTV. In fact, many people use their IPTV devices to watch live sporting events like football etc. A lot of famous and known media outlets including CBS Sports HQ, Sling TV etc. offer live IPTV streaming services. Conclusion While IPTV continues to grow, it still faces tough competition from Hulu and Netflix type of streaming services and many of the cable operators now also offer video on demand as well. With many TV channels having already launched dedicated apps to let viewers watch what they had missed, IPTV is facing some fierce competition. Though there is one forte that IPTV still leads in and that is sports. Plenty of services are now available on internet that lets you stream your favorite sports right from your set-top box. But with IPTV eliminating the need for different subscriptions for VOD, live streaming and catch-up TV, it is safe to say that it is here to stay for the long run. https://newtech-store.com/ (740) 292-2701 info@newtech-store.com
