  7. Introduction to the Cross of Christ THE CROSS WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT IN GOD’S PLAN FOR MAN’S REDEMPTION • Because of the need for man’s redemption, there had to be the cross Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

  8. Introduction to the Cross of Christ THE CROSS WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT IN GOD’S PLAN FOR MAN’S REDEMPTION • Because of the need for man’s ransom to be paid, there had to be the cross 1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all; the testimony tobe borne in its own times;

  9. Introduction to the Cross of Christ THE CROSS WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT IN GOD’S PLAN FOR MAN’S REDEMPTION • Because of God’s great love for man, there had to be the cross John 3:16-17 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him.

  10. Introduction to the Cross of Christ THE CROSS WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT IN GOD’S PLAN FOR MAN’S REDEMPTION • Because of the need for reconciliation, there had to be the cross Ephesians 2:16 And might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

  11. Introduction to the Cross of Christ THE CROSS WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT IN GOD’S PLAN FOR MAN’S REDEMPTION • Because of the need for peace with God, there had to be the cross Colossians 1:20 and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, I say, whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens.
