  4. Code Management • Anesthesia in charge. • Determine if 9-1-1 to be called

  5. Anesthesiologist Backup • Only available at Midwest Center for Day Surgery by calling • Good Samaritan Hospital • Dial 31-6695

  6. ACLS Managing Efforts • Assess the patient’s condition • Call 9-1-1 if necessary • Initiate AHA ACLS algorithms

  7. Charge RN Designates • Person to obtain Crash Cart • Draw up medications • Man the phones • Record the code events • Runner

  8. Code Equipment • Crash Cart • MH Cart • 12-lead EKG • IV start equipment • Weiss emergency airway (Only at MCDS) • Phlebotomy tray

  9. Crash Cart • O2 • Back board • Defibrillator/Pacer • Intubation tray • Medications • ASLS Manual/Emergency CV Care • Code Blue Record
