  8. Objectives of 2009 Forum • Review National Skills Shortage Strategy • Review the Federal Governments skills initiatives • Review the impact of the global financial crisis • Raise awareness of related skills initiatives

  9. 2009 Forum - Key Objectives • 2009 Skills Forum has been designed to identify the impact of numerous changes since the strategy was released in May 2007:- • Global Financial Crisis • Climate Change • New Federal Government • Infrastructure

  10. Outcome for 2009 Forum • An action plan for a new way forward for the Local Government sector to meet its skills needs over the next 5 to 10 years
