  3. Days of the week Aim to teach all 7 days before leading up to months and birthdays in 1st and 2nd level. ¿Qué día es hoy? What day is it? Es… It’s lunes Monday martes Tuesday miércoles Wednesday jueves Thursday viernes Friday sábado Saturday domingo Sunday NB: Days of the week do not have capital letters in Spanish Vocabulary

  12. Embedding the language Use the Spanish day of the week classroom signs (on the website) and ask pupils to pick the correct one each day.

  13. Sample activities You will find a bank of sample activities which you can use to practise the vocabulary in the classroom. This is not a prescriptive list of activities and you can use or adapt them to suit the needs of your class.

  15. ¿Qué día es hoy?1 • Pupils should look at the slides, listen to the day of the week in Spanish and try and match the day of the week to the correct word in English. • You could support this further by using day of the week fans so that pupils could do their own individual version.
