Swan Energy Limited – Fact Sheet COMPANY SNAPSHOT: • Swan Energy Limited (SEL) is an emerging “green energy” company with a pipeline of innovative power projects • Currently participating in a gas-based energy project with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) • 49% stake in 700MW greenfield gas based power project in Pipavav, Gujarat • Backward integration through 4.5MMTPA LNG Floating Storage & Regasification unit (FSRU) under implementation • Listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation of ~Rs 12.5bn (as of 25 May’10) COMPANY BACKGROUND: • Owned and managed by Dave and Merchant families who took over the company from J.P Goenka Group in 1992 • Originally incorporated in 1909 as Swan Mills Ltd. (SML), a manufacturer and marketer of cotton and polyester fabrics in India • Closed textile operations in 2002, and, with large area of land available, ventured into property development in 2004 • Currently developing 2 property projects in Mumbai with total saleable area of 1.88mn sq ft in Kurla (IT park) and Sewri (residential complex) in alliance with Piramal Group (Piramal Holdings), now known as Peninsula Land Ltd • SEL intends to deploy the cash flows expected from these projects into energy generation activities 2

Swan Energy Limited – Fact Sheet POWER PROJECTS UNDER DEVELOPMENT: • Proposed Capacity: 700MW • Debt: Equity: 80:20 • Equity Stake (SEL:GSPC-Group): 49:51 • Expected CER Generation: 12.75mn • Expected Commissioning: Dec 2010 • Project Details: Greenfield gas-based power project in Gujarat to be executed in equity participation in Gujarat Pipavav Power Co. Ltd. (GPPC), an SPV set up by GSPC • Project Status: All approvals received, work commenced since April 2008 • Proposed Capacity: 4.5MMTPA • Debt: Equity: 75:25 • Equity Stake: SEL 100% • Expected commissioning - July 2012 • Project Details: LNG regasification unit to be developed in Pipavav, Gujarat • Project Status: In house feasibility report and a detailed location analysis report has been carried out through BMT Consultants. Based on which, technical specifications of FSRU are frozen. 3
