    6. Typical Freshman Year Schedule Freshman English Algebra 1-2/Geometry Biology PE Elective Elective Lunch Study Hall *You must complete 10 credits each year in order to move up in class status

    7. Choose Classes Wisely Before you register for the next academic year carefully consider your class level placement (ex: Honors, AP) and which electives are most compatible with your career interests After your initial placement in a class you will only be able to change your schedule due to a divisional approved level change or incorrect placement

    8. Course Selection Sheet Course numbers ending in a 1/2 are full year courses2 credits for the entire year Course numbers ending in 1 or 2 are semester only courses --1 credit for the semester

    9. Completing Course Selection Sheet Write the students name and ID# on the top of the sheet Mark an X for the next course in sequence for all required courses (Math, English, Science, P.E., Social Studies) Number 1-4 your top 4 elective choices Parents and students should sign and date the course selection sheet.

    10. Reading Students reading below grade level as determined by standardized testing are placed in reading This is a state and federal mandate as a result of No Child Left Behind and BHS not making AYP Students exit reading when they are at grade level as determined by standardized testing

    14. Thinking Ahead To The Next Four Years Information about AP credit and placement policies at many colleges and universities is available at: www.collegeboard.com/ap/creditpolicy. AP Classes can earn you child college credit and potentially save you money on college tuition. AP Course Syllabi are available on the BHS webpage
