  5. President – Rino Satorxs5071 Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund A devastating earthquake (8.9 magnitude) hit Japan on March 11. It struck Japan near the city of Sendai, which caused damage and generated a powerful tsunami which struck northern Japan and spread across the Pacific. I have family and friends in Japan and luckily I received confirmation that they are safe, but I know many people over there have lost their loved ones, their homes, their everything. There are two ways you can help! i. We will be collecting money for the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund all this week. The table will be on the first floor of the HUB (by the big screen TV) from 9AM to 4PM Tuesday (3/15) to Friday (3/18). I think it would be great if we could have 1-3 people each shift collecting money. Please sign up for a couple shifts, we need all the help we can get! ii. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to the Japan and Pacific tsunami relief. Your $10 gift to the American Red Cross will support our disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific. On those rare occasions when donations exceed American Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.

They are $30 for student date and $75 for community members. I will be selling tickets after the meeting, so be sure to come and get one from me! We will also be selling them during office hours in our office (221C HUB). Remember, this is a formal event, so be sure to wear those awesome dresses and suits. It starts at 6pm at the Nittany Lion Inn, so be sure to be there. There will be silent auction and raffle items such as a 5 night stay in Avalon, 4 tickets to a Penguins game, 2 tickets to a Penn State football game with luxury box access, nice jewelery, etc. That will be followed by an awesome dinner and then dancing (dancing is not mandatory). Also, I don't think this really needs to be said, but do not show up intoxicated. If you happened to bring prizes or cereal boxes back from home, please drop them off at the chapter or in our HUB office (221C) asap. Thanks!

  18. Education – Naila Rahmannur5000 Classroom Announcements We need help with classroom announcements! Please see if you are in any of these classes or if you are available at any of these times! You get a whole volunteer hour for 2 minutes of work, and what you have to say is already written out for you!!! Outdoor Recruiting We need help with outdoor recruiting the entire week (March 21st - 25th). It is essentially the same as recruiting as a blood drive volunteer except that you will be recruiting for FUTURE blood drives, not a blood drive happening on the same day. The shifts are hour long shifts just like normal! If you can spare even an hour, that would be so helpful!
