  15. Accelerated Reader • Child takes a STAR test to see what their reading grade level is. • After they find out their grade level they go onto the Library system to find a book within their grade level. • They read the book that is within their AR level at home and at school. • They come to school and take a comprehension quiz on that book. • Each book has the AR level and how many points it is worth. • Each child will have a point goal for each quarter that they have to reach by the end of that quarter. 18. Penny Personality • Child finds a penny for each year they have been alive starting with their birth year. • The child can make a powerpoint, photostory, posterboard, or anything creative that tells about each year of their life. • You may use photographs or the child may draw their own events. • For each year the child is alive they will have a current event to match their life event. • For example: children who were born in 2001 could put a picture of September 11 when the twin towers came down. Then the next picture would be one of them as a baby. Please sign up for a Penny Personality date that works best for you on the circle table before you leave.
