  4. FORMATIONS & PERSONNEL • -- Q: Must be intelligent able to read multiple defenders quickly. Needs to be a good athlete. F: Best overall back. Can hit the hole quickly, break a tackle and has great speed & vision. A: Speed runner, needs to be a good receiver. Able to get to the edge and break a tackle.Z: 2nd “A” back. Same qualities as A. Can be subbed out for another receiver. X: Must be great blocker. Stalk/runoff/crack blocks. Also needs to be a good receiver. Y: Must be able to execute the downblock, reach, and scoop. Needs to be a pass threat. OL: Don’t need to be great. Need to release effectively and execute mostly angle blocks.

  5. Dive Q: Open up hand ball to FB. F: Straight downhill receive handoff. LA: Block man on RA: Orbit motion, fake veer pitch relationship. X: Stalk block. Y: Stalk block. LT: Block man on LG: Block man on if uncovered straight to LB. • C: Block man on or combo with G to LB. • RG: Seal inside. • RT: Seal inside.

  6. Midline Q: Open up, read 3 tech. Give unless 3 tech pinches, then keep inside through B-gap. F: Straight downhill on midline. If QB sticks ball in gut keep it. LA: Orbit motion, maintain a solid pitch relationship. *Can also be sent on an extra lead RA: Loop inside to LB or S X: Stalk block. Y: Stalk block. LT: Seal inside. LG: Seal inside. • C: Combo with BSG to BSLB. • RG: Release inside block LB • RT: Block out.

  7. Inside Veer Q: Open up, read DE. Give unless DE pinches. Read #2 keep unless he comes to you, pitch. F: Downhill at near hip of G. If ball is there keep. LA: Orbit motion, maintain a solid pitch relationship, be ready for pitch. RA: Arc outside to safety. X: Stalk block. Y: Stalk block. LT: Seal inside. LG: Seal inside. • C: PS A-gap to LB. • RG: Block man on combo to LB. • RT: Downblock inside combo to LB.

  8. Outside Veer Q: Open up, read EMOLS. Read defender if he pinches keep. Read #2, keep unless he comes F: Downhill at outside hip of PST. If ball is there keep. LA: Orbit motion, maintain a solid pitch relationship, be ready for pitch. RA: Downblock/double team to safety. X: Stalk block. Y: Stalk block. LT: Seal inside. LG: Seal inside. • C: PS A-gap to LB. • RG: Block man on to LB . • RT: Double team, block man on.

  9. Freeze Option Q: Open up as if veer, quick fake to FB. Read Backside end, pitch if he commits to you. F: Fake veer, replace BSG. LA: Maintain pitch relationship, have to get out there fast. Be ready for pitch. RA: Half orbit motion. Arc outside to safety. X: Stalk block. Y: Stalk block. LT: Block man on. LG: Pull and lead, read DE, seal LB. • C: Downblock. • RG: Downblock. • RT: Downblock.

  10. Trap Q: Open up and give to FB, fake freeze option backside. F: Downhill receive ball bend back to backside A-gap. LA: Maintain pitch relationship, sell option. RA: Half orbit motion. Arc outside to safety. X: Stalk block. Y: Stalk block. LT: Seal inside release to LB/S. LG: Pull and kick. • C: Downblock. • RG: Release inside to LB. • RT: Release inside to LB.

  11. Rocket Toss Q: Reverse out and pitch. F: Seal backside.LA: Arc outside to CB. RA: Orbit motion to guard. Receive pitch at full speed. X: Crack inside. If he blitzes inside, go upfield to first color/safety. Y: Stalk block. LT: Pull outside seal first color inside. LG: Reach • C: Reach • RG: Reach • RT: Reach
