  1. Typy lunet astronomiczne (Keplera) - dwa układy soczewkowe, skupiające; ziemskie (holenderskie) Galileusza - z okularem rozpraszającym.

  2. Luneta to przyrząd, służący do obserwacji przedmiotów dużych, ale odległych - luneta tworzy obraz tego przedmiotu pomniejszony, ale w bliższej odległości od oka. Składa się z obiektywu (układ o dużej ogniskowej i dużej średnicy) i okularu (układ o małej ogniskowej i małej średnicy).

  3. Luneta ziemska typu Galileusza: Dwa układy: • skupiający obiektyw (jak w astronomicznej); • rozpraszający okular (dzięki temu obraz jest urojony, ale nie odwrócony).
