  1. technology in contexts the project When the Department of Sociology brought Contexts magazine to Minnesota, we wanted to make good on the award-winning print publication's public outreach mission. This project showcases the work of CLA faculty and students in creating a popular website, contexts.org, a network of blogs for students and teachers, and our lively podcasts featuring interviews with sociologists and public intellectuals. about contexts Contextsispublished by the American Sociological Association and edited at the University of Minnesota. We offer a smartly written, thought-provoking take on modern life in our communities. The magazine includes feature articles, culture and book reviews, photography, the latest research discoveries and news from the field. With support from the College of Liberal Arts and the Office for Public Engagement, Contexts.org has developed a network of blogs, podcasts, as well as extended content on our magazine features. the team Contexts co-editors, Doug Hartmann and Chris Uggen, are in the Department of Sociology at the University of Minnesota. Our animated crawler badge is popping up on sociology sites all over. contexts podcasts Our podcasts are hosted by Jesse Wozniak and Arturo Baiocchi. Each episode features interviews with leading sociologists and our take on new and exciting social science research.
