  2. Introduction: • Our client has given us a basic description of web design. Using the information provided we have designed a simplistic prototype for the site. The site should, in the end, be simple to navigate and understand. There will be three main sections of the site including: 1) introduction to Adhoc congestion, 2) project/research details, and 3) development team information. Each section will maintain the overall scheme and should allow the website to flow well. The information provided for each section will be provided by the client and added at a later time.

  3. Lexicon • Ad Hoc Congestion • NSF – National Science Foundation • Impact - Innovations in Mobile Pervasive Agile Computing Technologies • Winlab – Rutgers University's mobile internet research lab

  4. Conceptual Model Task Scenario • Purpose - To develop a functional website based off our conceptual model, derived from our clients mental model. • Methods - Collaborate group ideas and transform them into the optimal prototype to be presented to the client. Group Discussions and Development strategies ensure websites flow together and brings corresponding information. • Benefits - Client can see visualization of our ideas. Proper adjustments can be made and questions for future development can be answered.

  8. Usability Test • Background Survey • Conducted Usability Test with 4 Computer Science and Software Engineering students and 3 students outside engineering. • Wanted basic information about users computer skills and internet use. • Looked for distinction among results and if difference in computer skills played a role in website functionality.

  9. Tasks • Asked task scenarios looking for: • research information • people involved • other focus projects • Proper use of links and menu

  10. Results • Each user, regardless of expertise with computers, was able to complete the assigned tasks. • Users were then asked to give final reactions concerning the website and their overall experience.

  11. Final Reactions • All users • Agreed or Strongly agreed the system was easy to learn and use • Strongly Agreed the system would be easy to use by people not knowing much about computers • Strongly Disagreed it was difficult to remember where links, tools, and commands were located • Felt they completed the assigned task in a reasonable amount of time • Rated the site a 4 out of 5

  12. Feedback • Pros • Banner complements research project • Site is simple, not too flashy, to the point • Easy to use • Nice color, appealing look • Consistent layout • Cons • Too plain, more pictures • No links at bottom of page • Ad Hoc title too small

  13. Design • Strict guidelines from client • Logo’s • Winlab layout • Straight forward approach for ease of use • Content is main focus • Soft colors
