  6. Charge • Opportunity 4 years ago to renovate the building. • Greater opportunity to change the culture and learning environment. • Technology was seen as the focal point for creating this change.

  7. Defining School 2.0 • Define and create a new digital learning environment. • Provide 21st Century Communication Tools for all staff and students. • Integrate Visual Literacy Elements across the curriculums. • Abandon redundant procedures and protocols.

  8. Digital Learning Environments • Remove all analog technologies – TVs, VCRs, Overhead projectors, etc. • Install in all classrooms – mounted digital projectors, document cameras, and new computers. • Enhanced tools were added for specific curriculum needs.

  9. 21st Century Communication Tools • Building Website. • Blackboard Site for Staff. • Email for primary tool to share information. • Integration of other systems onto the network.

  10. Visual Literacy • Digital Story Telling • Virtual Field Trips • Streaming Videos • In House Television Studio • Google Maps • Other Online Content Connections.

  11. Changing the Focus • Engaging Staff in conversations related to changing trends • Developing Teacher Leaders • Offering Targeted/Focused Staff Development • Administrative Modeling

  12. Results • Increased technology proficiency for both students and staff • Improved communication • Test scored increased for both local and state assessments • Students are engaged!
