  1. “The world has no end, and what is good among one people is an abomination with others.” (Uchendu in TFA, Chapter 15) In part 2 of TFA, the white men come into contact with the Ibo. Predict what aspects of each culture might appear as an “abomination” (something horrible) to the other. Do Now Do you have your homework packet?

  3. Major events We learn a little more about cultural customs of the Ibo. They expect payment for destruction of property, but help each other out with celebrations. Village helps throw a huge feast for a wedding. A cow gets loose, and a debt must be paid. Okonkwo accidently kills the son of a village elder, and is sent into exile for 7 years. The village burns his house, land and animals. Okonkwo is loaned land and yams to start over in his motherland.
