  4. Ownership in Spanish To show ownership in Spanish you put: The definite article + noun + de + person’s name Examples: el libro de John (John’s book) el escritorio de Sarah (Sarah’s desk)

  5. Careful…. Please use caution when a singular, masculine pronoun is used after de… For example: The boy’s book = el librodel chico • Del is used when de and el are next to each other. You must form one longer word, del.

  6. Examples: • Harry’s computer la computadora de Harry 2. The boy’s book el libro del chico 3. The girl’s pencil el lápiz de la chica 4. Lizzie’s table la mesa de Lizzie 5. Carly’s friend la amiga/el amigo de Carly
