  2. Motivated- (adj) wanting to work for a goal • Ms. Allen’s students were very motivated during their end of the year test.

  3. Inquired- (v) asking questions • Reese inquired about the Math lesson from Friday.

  4. Psychologist- (n) a person who studies the mind • When Lauren grows up she wants to be a psychologist and help people with their problems.

  5. Dawdled- (v) taking ones time • Sometimes Krya likes to dawdled in the bathroom so she does not have to work on her Math sheet.

  6. Conference-(n) a meeting • Gerardo had a conference with the teacher about how good his grades have been lately.

  7. Grim-(adj) sad Lucas was feeling very grim when he discovered that his class was not going to go outside today.

  8. Approve-(v) allow • Mrs. Williams approved our next field trip ! I wonder where we will be going?

  9. Revolt- (v) to not obey the rules • When students at SIS revolt, they have to take a walk to see the principles.

  10. Obviously- (adv) easily seen; open to view • The answer to the problem was obviously claear to Jenna.

  11. Pride-(adj) high feeing of importace and value • Sadie was filled with pride when she heard how good our Language scores were.

  12. Daintily-(adv) delicate • The students used their scissors daintily so they would not cut themselves.

  13. Gripped-(v) held onto very tightly • When the boys flip upside down on the play ground, they must grip the bars to keep them from falling
