  2. Descriptive Facts • They’re round with black spots. • Many Ladybugs are red. • Some are orange or yellow. Some have two spots , some have more. • Ladybugs have two wings.

  3. Habitat Facts • Ladybugs live in yards, parks, forests, and fields. • Ladybugs are happy in many different habitats, including grasslands, forests, cities, suburbs, and along rivers. • Seven spotted ladybugs are native to Europe but were brought to North America in the mid1900s to control the aphid populations.

  4. Diet Facts • Ladybugs generally feed on aphids, scale insects, mealy bugs,spider mites, and other harmful plant pests. • Though most ladybugs eat insects, a few species eat plants and are considered pests.

  5. Predator Facts • When threatened , Ladybugs ’’ play dead ’’. • Many predators will not eat an insect that does not move. • Birds are ladybugs main predators , but they also fall victim to frogs, wasps, spiders , and dragonflies.

  6. Super Duper Facts • Ladybugs are actually beetles. • The female ladybugs and male ladybugs look exactly alike. • The ’scientific’’ name for the seven spotted ladybug is coccinellaseptempunctata.
