Sector 20 Scope of Conventional Facilities Project • Demolition of Existing 1700 ft2 Alcove Bldg. • Construction of New 2250 ft2 Bldg. in ~ same location with 10’ extensions on ends. • Steel Frame Building • Modifications to existing foundation • New HVAC and Electrical Service • Interior Finishes • Construction of New 300 ft2 “RF Hut” in Klystron Gallery • Some Cable Trays and Supports. Cabling to be designed by SLAC and installed by subcontractors as separate project. • Surface mounted electrical distribution in injector alcove area.

Magnetic Measurement Facility Uses • Undulator magnet tuning – 2 magnet measuring machine test stands • Aligned with same orientation to Earth’s magnetic field as LCLS Undulator Hall. • Undulator fiducialization – large coordinate measuring machine • Cradle assembly area • Magnet storage/temperature acclimation • Work desks in lab and office space for 2 employees

  6. MMF Building Criteria • ~4800 sq. ft. floor space (inc. ~3000 laboratory space) + mezzanine • Locate within an existing building to aid in temperature control • Adequate ceiling height for overhead cranes • Accessible for magnet delivery using trucks and forklifts • Availability of required utilities, esp. electrical service – 600A, 480v 3f
