  1. How To Apply To Join The RCMP

  2. Are you planning to join the RCMPbut you don't have any idea how to apply? Well, this step by step guide can definitely help you. Before applying, you have to make sure first that you meet the application requirements and qualifications. You also need to undergo and complete the vision and hearing assessment examinations which you will have to pay with your own resources. If you meet the minimum requirements you will be given a form which you will need to complete. Once you have successfully passed these two medical assessments and you already have a form, you can then proceed with the application process.

  3. Step # 1: Submit your application online All applications must be done online. You can see the police officer job openings for RCMP association on the job search bank of the Government of Canada. To know if there are police officer job openings available, you can search them on the search bank by typing "RCMP" under "Job title" and click show. You can then check the available jobs listed under the "Jobs open to the public". In order to complete the online application, you will have to create your own account and fill out all necessary details. Make sure not to answer "no" when asked about the requirements, and qualifications or when asked if you already have completed the form and if you have pre-application assessments because answering "no" will only cause you to get rejected and if this happens, you can no longer proceed to the next step. You will only be allowed to re-apply after six months. To learn more about the process of application, you may contact a recruiter or attend a recruiting event before you submit your online application.

  4. Step # 2: Take the RCMP Entrance Exam The RCMP personnel will contact you once you successfully pass the online application. You will then be asked to complete your entrance examination registration. You will be exempted to take the examination if you finished a Bachelor's degree or a minimum of two years college diploma from a recognized college, university or other post-secondary institutions and you have a copy of your transcript of records.

  5. Step # 3: Forms completion After passing the entrance exam, you can then proceed to forms completion. You will have to download different forms which you need to complete. Once completed, return them within the specified deadline. You also need to obtain some personal documents like your statement of driving record, college or high school transcript of records, and fingerprints.

  6. Step # 4: Pre-Employment Polygraph Examination This step calls for a review of both the questions being asked in the Applicant Questionnaire in step 3 and the answers you have provided. This will help the hiring panel to verify your integrity and honesty.

  7. Step # 5: Complete Your Full Health Assessment The RCMP designated physicians will be the ones to conduct the full health assessment which includes the psychological and full medical examinations to know if you are medically fit. This time, the psychological and full medical examinations expenses will be shouldered by the RCMP.

  8. Step # 6: Go Through a Field Investigation and Get Your Security Clearance In order for the RCMP to assess your character, they will conduct a thorough background check. If you pass this field investigation, you will be provided with a security clearance. Once you passed all the six steps, you will then be enrolled in the RCMP Cadet Training Program.
