  2. What does Medieval Literature Consist of? • Medieval Literature consist of wonders and marvels like fairy enchantments, giants, dragons, wizards, and sorceresses • And later prose tales relating knight that took quest to marry a princess • 3 major principle sources; France, Britain, and Rome

  3. Geoffrey Chaucer • Geoffrey Chaucer (1340?-1400) was an author who was mostly known for writing Medieval Novels. • He was born in London, when he was young he studied at the Inner Temple of London. • One book that Chaucer wrote was the Canterbury Tales, which is still today known as the greatest books of all time

  4. Where did Medieval Literature come from? • Medieval Literature mostly came from Europe • Some of the stories were told by bards and were transferred to book form

  5. Anglo-Normans • Medieval Romance literature was very much favored by the Anglo-Normans • Anglo-Normans were descendents of the Normans who ruled England in 1066 • Anglo-Normans lived in Ireland and some parts of Wale
