  1. Greenest and Cleanest 3/ I understand many methods to sustainably run a festival that help both people and the environment (level 6) 1/ I understand one method of running a sustainable festival (level 4/5) Lesson Aim is to appreciate the different ways that a festival can be sustainable 2/ I understand many methods to sustainably run a festival. (level 5/6) 4/ I understand how a festival can be sustainably run in many ways and how these ways can interact with each other and benefit other places (level 7)

  2. Teacher notes: • . the students can set their own targets for the lesson, and you could refer to their own current working level at the beginning if appropriate, without identifying individual students eg. 'All those students who are currently on a level 4, if you are to demonstrate 'outstanding' progress today, you must be aiming to demonstrate an understanding of level 6 skill.' • or • 'using your current working at level, identify what you would consider 'good' progress today (eg L4 -L5), and now identify what you would consider 'outstanding' progress (L4 - L6) • Part of the AFL throughout the lesson, is getting individuals/groups to consider how they are going to demonstrate their 'understanding' of a particular skill. • Students then become more involved in identifying their own potential outcome, and in theory, take ownership/responsibility for their own learning.

  3. Greenest and Cleanest • You need to orientate your A3 paper to landscape and fold it in half 3 times (so it is split into 8). In the top left section write the title and in the others write the 7 categories. • This task is to match up the statements in the boxes to one (or more) of the 7 categories on the first sheet. You should write out each statement into the box you think it best fits. (if you can do this and understand the statements you are at least a level 5). NOW CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO DO BETTER

  4. Greenest and Cleanest CHALLENGING YOURSELF To earn a higher level you should now look to do one or both of these tasks: • Devise a way of showing how some of the statements fit in more than one category • Show how some of these sustainable actions are to help the environment, some to help people and some help both If you do both of these successfully you will be at a high level 6 or a level 7

  5. Homework • Draw a poster to show how sustainable Glastonbury is. The best posters will be the ones that show the impact(s) sustainable actions can have. “sustainable” means a way of living that does not harm the environment or people’s lifestyles today or in the future”
