  1. MAMA Project Benefits for HCMR • Raised awareness for Mediterranean Operational Oceanography on a national level • Dissemination of POSEIDON products to a wider range of scientific users in the Med • Improved collaboration with Institutes from south Mediterranean and non EU countries MAMA Final meeting, Tunisia, March 2005

  2. 1: Raise awareness on a national level • The visibility of Operational Oceanography was relatively increased in Greece due to the POSEIDON system that provides products to the public since 1999. • The MAMA project increased the visibility of Mediterranean scale efforts (MFS projects) and promoted the idea of international collaboration. • This was achieved both through the contacts with other stakeholders during MAMA-WP1 activities and through the National Awareness meeting that took place parallel to the EuroGOOS 2002 Conference in Athens. MAMA Final meeting, Tunisia, March 2005

  3. 2: Dissemination of POSEIDON products Through MAMA-Net products (data and forecasts from the POSEIDON system started to be made available to the Mediterranean scientific community. This extended the user-base of the POSEIDON system and increased the exploitation of its products from a wider community MAMA Final meeting, Tunisia, March 2005

  4. 3: Collaboration with Mediterranean partners Through the MAMA project, HCMR improved its links with Institutes and laboratories from non EU countries (south Mediterranean, Adriatic Sea). This can form the basis for future collaboration in research or capacity building programs in the area of Operational Oceanography an other topics of Marine Sciences. MAMA Final meeting, Tunisia, March 2005
