  1. Remembrance Sunday November 2013

  2. World War death figures Deaths World War 1 and 2 (Including Civilians)

  3. Crucifixion Victim • Jehohanan's death would be helpful toward imagining Jesus' suffering since both were crucified by the Romans in the same century and not far from the walls of Jerusalem. • The lower third of his right lower arm bone (radius)contains a groove caused by the friction between a nail and the bone. Hence, his arms were nailed through the forearms • The legs had been pressed together, bent, and twisted to that the calves were parallel to the cross. The feet were secured to the cross by one iron nail driven through both heels. • While Jehohanan was on the cross, presumably after some time, his legs were fractured. One blow from a massive weapon shattered the right shins into slivers, and fractured the left ones.

  4. Psalm 22 Gospels Verse 1: My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? • Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lemasabachthani?" that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

  5. Psalm 22 Gospels Verse 6: “They have pierced/(torn at) my hands and feet.” • John 20:25 “But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe."

  6. Psalm 22 Gospels Verse 7: “Everyone who sees me mocks me. They sneer and shake their heads” • Mark 15:29 “Those who passed by mocked him, shaking their heads”

  7. Psalm 22 Gospels Verse 15: “My strength has dried up like sunbaked clay. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth” John 19:28  ’After this, when Jesus knew that all was now finished, he said (in order to fulfill the scripture), "I am thirsty.”’

  8. Psalm 22 Gospels Verse 18: “They divide my garments among themselves and throw dice for my clothing.” • Mark 15:24 “And they crucified him, and divided his clothes among them, casting lots to decide what each should take.”
